I get you mate. Obviously finishing 6th would be a whole lot better than finishing 12th, but at this moment in time I'm just absolutely sick to the back teeth of Everton painting stuff like this as a success. We are fine old institution and should be fearing nobody and competing for trophies. I went to Brighton and was appalled by what I saw and you can feel that at Goodison as well when we go a goal down. No one cares any more because we are so used to them bottling games or just strolling around picking up their wage. It was a real struggle to make the effort to go today and that apathy has Infected the whole stadium. Sorry I've gone off on one here but I hope you can see what I'm saying haha.
Very good points made here.
Over time, sadly, we have become accustomed to let downs... players, managers, the BoD, and yes, the fans on the terraces.
We've grown to almost accept mediocrity and not being 'up' there with the media-favoured 'big six'.
The whole mindset around the club has to change and it starts at the top.
Unless the Board refuse to accept any performance or results - on and off the field - that do not meet the very highest standards, we're cream crackered.
But the Board needs to set the standards that must be met - on and off the field - and communicate everything clearly at and to all levels within the club.
We've got a motto that means "Nothing but the Best" - the time we started to live up to that mantra has never been so right !!!
