The Premier is one of the two top leagues in world football, and managers from other leagues have failed here. The guy Southampton just hired remains to be a proven success here. Silva, who also had continental success did well at first at Hull

Peak Koeman was also worse.

He seems to be a streaky manager. He goes on good streaks and very bad streaks. I would stick with him we cannot keep chopping and changing. The squad is squad is still very short, unless we have our strongest team out we struggle but yes he seems to be learning himself.

He won the FA Cup. In the wider scale of things that is more important to Wigan. It was a complete freak result as Man City sacked before the game, but they still pulled it off.

Now we are a different size of club, and the FA Cup would not make up for a relegation, but he still did as well as Wigan could have expected. I mean, the chairman was able to have his day on the sun and let Wigan go back to their natural level. I do think Bruce overall was better there than Martinez, I have to admit.

I am with you on that. I support Silva and want to see him operate at least 3 windows. I am saying that 6-2 at home is a big blow and may be difficult to get over for manager and players which could (hopefully not) lead to a rut. If it does happen and Silva cannot get out of it then Brands and Moshiri will be keeping a close eye on him.

We aren't getting any breaks against these top teams, we deserved a draw against Liverpool, played well against City who are the best squad in Europe.

Today, we go 2-0 as we should have and we would have not been as attacking leaving ourselves exposed, could have been a different game.

We aint got the cover in midfield yet, Gomez and Gueye are a good pairing but when we have to start replacing them our back up players are not of the quality required against these top teams, Davies and Schneiderlin were well out of their depth against the Spurs midfield today.

Yep. Fixture list order means absolutely everything. Silva has taken 8 points from the last 9 games in a run including games against Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs. We have also played Liverpool. Koeman got sacked for taking (yes you've guessed it) 8 points from the first 9 games. He also played City Utd, Chelsea and Spurs. He got sacked for a 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal (equivalent to Liverpool in the run if we are talking big 6 teams).

So my question to all. Same form as Koeman. Worse home defeat against a top 6 team at the end of the run a and similar money spent. What should happen to Silva now if we (as the supporters) and also the owners of the club are being consistent and fair?

Koeman bought his own team and it was disfunctional to say the least. Silva is still working with Brands on remedying that debacle and to suggest his dismissal would be ‘fair and consistent’ after 6 months is surely a wind up.

Silva has made progress in both our playing style and the actual quality of our first 11. Yeah he got it wrong today definitely but a bit of patience and perspective please.
