Why have a go at Phil Neville? Probably one of our better players on the day. What did Saint Leighton do today hey? We all know what he can do yet as usual he choked in a big game ala against Downing in the semi final. Didn't put one good ball in all game, got done countless times defensively, and just generally looked like a school boy wanting to go home. Watch Cole v Barcelona last season and you'll see why he's still playing for England. He can defend. Neville, Fellaini and Jelavic were the only ones in our team that didn't look like they were embarassed to be sharing a pitch with the Mancs. The rest just succumbed to the usual inferiority complex we get most of the itme we visit Old Trafford or Anfield.

??????? 1 - probably the fact the player in front is slightly off form at the mo
2 - balls are gonna be consistently played in behind him to their front 2 if he goes awol
3 - behind him is JOHN HEITINGA

Because he's ****ing ****e lad. Baines had a poor game but still did more than Neville. He needs ****ing swerving. As do you.

Baines did nothing, least neville kept his side of the pitch locked down. You can't compare the quality of the two players but I'm just making that point that in big games Baines goes missing yet everyone just blames Neville when actually solely in this game he didn't do that badly.

Who does not know how to make a sub at half time when 2-0 down, & never used all his subs - he used to use youngsters in our squad now it is like Dads Army!
Distans injury really messed us up, but too many players not up for it today if we play like that v Oldham you can kiss the FA cup bye too worst performace of the season baring Reading away!

Instead of scapegoating, should we not just accept that pretty much every player was poor today? We were outclassed by the best team in the league, it's not like we've just lost to QPR.

The 2 very very soft goal via the niave defending cost us. If distin was available then a different game it would have been. Neville should know not to be further back than the centre halves and cost us the second goal.

Anyway we are in for a big struggle for the rest of the season, too many players off form or simply not good enough. Neville, Osman, Heitinga, Naismith and Jelavic are simply stinking the place out with Howard, Peinaar below par equates to a poor second half to the season. We look jaded and sluggish compared to early season. No activity in the Jan transfer window will cost us this season and could have horrific consequences this summer.

Name one big game of note that Baines has played well in? I can't remember any.

Baines has been one of the most consistent players we have in EVERY game, he had a poor game today by his standards but would not say he choked or was awful.

Played well against City in the last few games against them, played well in the 1st game this season, played well against Spurs, can't really remember his performance against Chelsea but did he choke?

No he never had Distan to cover his left side in defence so could not get forwards!
