Given the choice now, with no benefit of knowing what the result is, would you rather RVP in or out?[/QUO

I would want to test myself against the best but that's just me. He played against us at Goodison last season and we still beat them, I want smash them in their entirety in their own backyard. Bring them on and lets finally get this monkey off our back with no excuses

A monkey off ones back is a colloquialism for beating an addiction (or sometimes it means shifting a burden onto someone else).
Removing an albatross from around ones neck means overcoming/removing a burden or long timed obstacle.

Thus lets beat Manure and remove that albatross from round our necks!!

We're not gonna win though are we? I mean I really really want us to, but I dunno. We've got better fans, better manager, better Defence and Midfield, but Rooney can win games at any moment.

Rooney is class, actually thats a poor choice of words. Rooney is a brilliant footballer, but Barkley, Lukaku & Deulofeu bring a different attacking threat from what Moyes knows about us. Plus McCarthy & Barry bring a lot to our midfield. What I'm saying is we're so different to what he left behind that there's a chance we could get a historic result, IF the players believe (you KNOW Roberto believes!)

He was a bit pooh, but a great club captain, nearly every player said they were made to feel at home by him when they arrived, that he looked after them all whilst here, and was a key part of the togetherness of the team.
Also he had a lot of pride in playing for us, whether he said the right things where we were concerned is another matter.
Solid RB, mediocre DM and decent club captain.
Glad he's off now though, probably a season or two late in face, but glad we had him whilst we did.
I don't think he was a great club captain.
Moyes did a fine job at Everton. I firmly believe, until the end, he gave his all for Everton. Now he's gone and he's come back to poach some players, we grumble but deep down know that thats football.
Neville, on the other hand, IMO used Everton, always had one eye on pastures new(or old as the case may be). To be the captain of Everton, there can be no other club with a bigger spot in your heart and certainly not one you're competing against. His captaincy devalued Everton as a club and he was gone at the first opportunity. Hated his tweets two, bet ya players like Coleman thought he was a clowns pocket!

I dunno, I think Phil was good value with his banter. Some of the exchanges with Coleman were hilarious and showed great dressing room camaraderie. I have to say when his signing was announced I was so deflated. I really didn't like him at United (England v Romania and hundreds of other sh!t games) and we were spending the Rooney money (IIRC). It felt like we'd lost Rooney & gained Phil Neville, bad fcuking times.

He served us well in his own, sh!t way I suppose.

That was basically what happened. We lost Rooney and gained nothing while Moyes got in good with Utd.

Loved reading this yesterday, what provoked me to join the page. Cracking insults to the manc gits thrown in for good measure. I reckon they're cacking us floating up the 62, like the Spanish Armada when they saw the English fleet ready to smash their heads in. COYB!!!

Why have you changed your name Ijjy?!

Their midfield is no match for ours,up front they have a bit of punch but so do we,defensively I reckon we're better and this will be 'the' deciding factor.
Fingers crossed we turn in a good performance and come away with our just rewards.

We're addicted to not winning and I blamed SAF... Lets get this monkey off our backs :)

I hope no self respecting blue either applauds or acknowledges Moyes or Neville tomorrow. Or Round.

Ignore him. That's what he deserves frankly.

According to a lot of players to have played alongside him, he was a great club captain, more so than perhaps the on pitch captain, went out of his way for every player, and led by example, first in, last out and all that. Did the role of club captain very well, perhaps not the PR man you'd want, but then that's why we have a PR department, his job as club captain is to keep the players together in the dressing room, keep them fired up, and help make sure players were happy...
There are a plenty of reports from players of this being the case to be fair.

We lost Rooney and gained Tim Cahill and Marcus Bent too
