The FA said that Bennett was supposed to officiate Sunday's FA Cup Semi, but had to pull out of it because of Illness. On short notice they picked Riley. They said Riley was chosen because of his experience.

To me it hardly matters, we'll do the biz on the day. Only one major concern for me is if Saha is ruled out. Jo Cup Tied and Vaughan unlikely to start. He didn't look that sharp to me in front of goal tonight even with poor supply. I just don't think he is ready yet to be starting prem matches. If we don't have him the only other choice is to go with Baxster who had another great match.

Thing is Ossie only performs against poor teams like Wigan and WBA, because they are more to his own standards, (The prem has been poor this season, I mean look at the spuds on 8th..teams have been very inconsistent for some bizarre reason. Wigan got to 7th because teams below them where even worse which says a lot about those below us.) largely he spends more time missing against the bigger/better teams. Paper weight descibes him.

i wasnt to happy about bennett,but today i find out mike rileys the ref,god help us,i was looking forward to the match,but not now,and i dont think moyes is happy either,change the ref,and make it fair,thats what i say.?????????

I'd prefer Riley and Wiley swap places but, given the publicity about a possible Man Utd bias, at least Riley will have that on his mind and think twice before he gives them a penalty or sends Jags off.

Is anyone else worried about Jagielka ? He was shocking against Villa . It just got over to the fact that gainst someone with skill and pace he can sometimes get left in the dust . I hope I am wrong but I just saw something last saturday that had me feeling very nervous
