Osman and Macca vs Toure and Fernandinho is a little scary.

Osman can play well with 2 defensive minded players behind him, but when he has to do any defensive work he gets way too exposed.

Which he will do today unless he has the game of his life. But its unlikely.

Obviously on paper Heitinga would have been a better option but he's just as bad these days so i can only assume Gibson is nowhere near fit enough to start because a choice of him or Osman in the middle against City is no choice at all.

Gibson looked off the pace in the COC and was apparently carrying a knock. It's understandable he's on the bench if Roberto thinks there's a chance of him breaking down. I'd rather Ossie there than Heitinga, although neither option is appealing and Naismith at least offers a bit more defensive cover. Mirallas offers us a pace outlet on the counter which might be our best shot as the game develops. Be delighted if my 2-2 prediction comes in now.

Hope we just get into them.... with our sexy football.

Yep, James will have his work cut out and Osman will also have to have a top game as well. Gibson must be only ready for around 20 minutes at the mo.
