Hey there, first post alert...
I'm John and I'm from a small town just outside Newcastle upon Tyne.
My Everton rollercoaster started when I was about 6 years old, when a friend of my dad's gave me an Everton kit that their son had grown out of. I pretty much lived in that kit while it fit me and got a lot of stick from other kids at school for not supporting Newcastle. But I couldn't care less...
Big Neville Southall was my idol back in those days but I never really got the chance to get to goodison park to see him. The only time I got to see Everton play was when they visited up here. That was only once in a blue moon and I was always in the home end with my dad, who was black and white through and through (although he did come to the 2009 FA cup final with me as an "honorary blue").
He always did look out for the Everton scores and showed support though.
I finally got to goodison a couple of times this season and it felt like home but it would have been even better if he had been able to make the journey with me. I'm hoping to get back this coming season for more games too, before it is consigned to the history books.
Anyway, that's probably enough rambling now, sorry if it has bored you
All the best
John
