Liverpool have turned the tide on Merseyside rivals

FFS if we beat them we go level on points with them.

They've been waiting two years to print this article - you'd think they could at least hold out until Liverpool got a bit further ahead before pulling the trigger. The anticipation must have been unbearable.

Also, I can't remember a player's impact being more exaggerated than Coutinho's. It's incredible that the media still don't hesitate to pour endless praise on inconsistent South American flair players.

We're eleven games in and should we beat them we go level on points with them. They've hardly 'turned the tide' have they? Add to that we've played the harder teams and had more away games.
Take away Suarez and they're ****ing terrible.

But what Moyes did manage to achieve in his last two seasons at Everton was a shift in the balance of power on Merseyside.

"shift in the balance of power on Mersyside"

That is pathetic.

Shankly "shifted the balance of power on Merseyside" in the mid sixties and again in the early seventies.

In between, Catterick shifted it back again.

Howard shifted the balance of power between 1985 and 1987 for an all to brief period.

And all three of those guys did it by winning league titles and being crowned Champions of England.

Either of our clubs wresting 5th or 6th place isn't "shifting the balance of power on Merseyside".

It is like two bald men grabbing the provebial off one another.

And to think Merseyside used to be the nerve centre of football in this country :(

the headline should probably read. 'Liverpool 3points above Everton with 27 games to play'

Especially when paper are saying Utd are now "only" 5 points behind arsenal and right in the title race.

Papers are sh1te. The only thing that counts is what is going to happen on saturday

The tide is turning? According to most LFC fans the ride never turned in the first place. The last 2 years didn't happen, and even if they did, it's because of their new filossofee and the fact that they're skint.

Scrotes.

I agree. There hasn't been any power to balance on Merseyside since Benitez left.

In the Mirror

Plucky little Everton

£35million on Andy Carroll.

They had to pay him £1million to get rid of him.

Carroll. Downing. Adam. Henderson.

Thats about £100 million there of which they lost about £50million on.

Quite a list!

This is the journalist who wrote the story and how he refers to himself on the Mirror website. I rest my case.

What? He's a 'good pro', top at organising, and 'inspiring' the troops in the press pack, but fundamentally ****ing gash at journalism?

That figures. Go Nevster #2
