the ref was looking the other way and didnt even consult his linesman.
if he didnt see it , how can he give a freekick yet alone piennar a yellow ?

no i think the liverpool player held his face and showed an elbow , the ref looked at the player then pienaar and pulled the yellow out.
took 2 seconds , no way did he consult the linesman.
