I'm pretty sure there's more evidence out there of Jelavic scoring goals than there is of Gibson and Osman showing any glimmer of creativity. Our build-up play is laborious and predictable, which makes it easier to defend against - the thread discussing the Executioner's Bong article explained it very well.

We need 2 or 3 more midfielders (one of which should be primarily a right side specialist), Felli needs to sit in CM with Mirallas at 10 and Osman and Gibbo should become squad players rather than starters. That would be progress.

Do you seriously think that Gibbo and Ossie will become faster of thought and more accurate in their passing just because a more expensive striker plays in front of them? Do me a favour.

It's not Gibson's job to create, in the same way that it's not up to Mirallas, Pienaar, Osman etc. to anchor the midfield and make tackles/track runners/hold the ball etc.

Thanks for the patronising.

We were up against a poor Liverpool side missing their star player. Did we take advantage? Did we take it to them? No, we meandered along to a point. Forgive me for wanting more than that, because I think this Everton side is better than that. We have plenty of quality but for far too long in that match we looked like we were wandering about, not knowing how to score.

Our defence was very solid. Everything in front of them lacked urgency.

I think we're better than that.

We were pathetic.
We just rolled over and died.
We completely sh*t ourselves and bottled it.
Moyes out, etc.

Better ?

No it doesn't and moaning in the press won't get us decisions.

Yeah so wenger saying aj dives meant it had no effect on us not getting a penalty all season.

Fergie harassing the linesmen means fergie time doesn't exist despite the apt name.

Gerrard in the refs ear doesnt get players sent off

Sorry mate but we need go start playing the game people moan we arnt aggressive enough yet it starts in the hierarchy moyes and the players need tp start giving it back

We have to buy new striker. Anichebe is not good enough to lead the line. He is just big that's it.

Only one of those examples involves someone talking in the press. And where's the proof that that was what caused us missing out on pens?

We got into good positions around their box but as has been said a lack of guile and creativity really cost us.

We also seemed reluctant/incapable to break in numbers at speed, which is kind of key if you're looking to spring counter attacking football.

It's hardly something attached to this game tho. It's not like we bottled it or didn't turn up, didn't play the final pass because it was Liverpool...

It's been our problem all season. We DON'T have an actual real creative player. The guy who can play that final killer ball. All our midfielders are the kind of players who are good at playing the cute ball before the final killer pass.

Ross Barkley is seriously the nearest we have to play in the hole and play those sort of balls.

Yes, but that wasn't the point I made, was it ? It was that we lack quality in the striking department. Which is a fact, not an excuse btw.

I agree. But my point was today we could've have RVP up front and still not score because our creativity went awol so it's not solely down to the strikers

It was a decent performance. But it's a theme under Moyes where players forget how to play at Anfield. And he doesn't make moves to get them more involved.

OK mate. Wires have gotten crossed here.

Agree. It's so frustrating watching us sometimes. We have some very good players yet we don't really take control of things as we should a lot of the time. We have the ability to do so but too often we settle for "controlling" the opposition instead of letting them worry about us.

I think there's a mentality problem. In Moyes' time here we haven't won at Old Trafford, Highury/Emirates or Stamford Bridge - let alone our well-known Anfield problem. That's really, really poor and for me it comes down to our tactics and our attitude.
