VDH was at his best nothing special, just a decent left back in a good hard working unit and pretty decent defence.

This is basically because Baines had a pop at Martinez and nothing else.

VDH couldn't lace his boots technically as a footballer.

Quality player Baines, still is still delivering good crosses but lukaku doesn't like heading it nobody does, nobody like cahill, technically still quality defensively too but we havent had a good winger, like stevie p, maybe why he hast flourished as much still been great but, if you dont trust your winger your not going to push as high

...thought he was decent last night. Couple of timely challenges when covering centrally, once Schneiderlin made a great interception when a player looked like scoring but sliding in behind him was Baines. He's past his best but he's still a smashing player to watch.

The LB spot looked strong a couple of seasons back with Oviedo and a fitter younger Baines and Galloway coming through.

Now this feller has left us exposed. Another position that needs urgent attention when it should have been secure.

Same on the other side. Kenny should have been bedded in straight away after Coleman was injured with nothing to play for in the season and given half a dozen games...and he should have been playing last night and flying out to Korea later today/tomorrow as the lad at Boro is doing - even though their game is now academic.

Ben Chilwell reminds me a lot of a young Baines, ie. fantastic overlapping runs and great crossing. Would love for us to nick him off the Foxes.

I think Baines would be stronger coming off the bench. His attacking isn't what it was and he's defensively weak too.
