Stubbs has done an interview saying Baines asked to leave in the summer, no idea who he did the interview with but the quotes have been on radio this morning
 

He more or less talked Rooney into leaving when he came on the scene, slated the club for not respecting cancer when he left for Sunderland and now this. He's one of Moyes henchman and I cant stand him, especially them videos on EvertonTV were he thinks he's funny and you can tell all the kids thinks he's a whopper.

I've heard in a previous life that he was John Houlding.
 

When I heard this earlier this morning, I immediately thought of the Leighton Baines - Corinthian thread and had a wry smile to myself.

Let this be final proof that not 1 footballer gives a shiny ****e about the clubs that they play for.

They all want as much money as possible and to be playing at the highest level they can with a chance of winning something.

Easy to have a go at Stubbs, don't see why he has had to come out with this.

Bit harsh - wouldn't blame Baines one bit for wanting to go to United. Chance to play in Europe, etc.

Baines has been a class act throughout, even if he did ask, he never went public or forced a move.

Baines still deserves credit - he could surely have forced the move by submitting a transfer request or going public, but he had too much respect for the club. Stubbs is an idiot
 

Yous are all fuming over something with doesnt need over fume about. Baines is an Everton player FFS, United look like they're going for Shaw now, so likelihood Baines to stay, if he does go, we'll get phenomenal money for a 28-29 year old
