If he isn't a defensive mid fielder, then what is Davies playing as? Not an attacking one surely?

No. He’s a CM. He usually plays alongside a DM like Gueye or Delph. Or another CM like Gomes who will share the defensive responsibilities of any midfield duo.

Today, he had Sigurdsson, who is naturally a CAM, so he was doing the bulk of the defensive work himself and for 60-70 mins he did it admirably.

Much improved performance but a defeat is still a defeat and unlucky defeats is what happens to teams around the bottom. Sidebe had by far his best game, although we could’ve done without him going down injured near the end.

Sidebe MoM, but mostly chuffed with Moise Kean’s cameo.

Hate to say it lads he has to go, we are in the absolute mix here. 7 wins and the odd draw out of 24 games (most of them being against the top half) needed to get to 40 points

Unless something is done to improve the spine of the team we are in for a long season,Keane looks like a lost tourist wearing wheelies,Davies trys but thats it,to make Gylfi captain who is more jellyfish than man,DCL,I smoke 20 a day,havent kicked a ball in anger in 20 odd years and would still feel confident facing him after a Sunday roast

The winter window looking massive for us now. Experienced CM on loan, CB better than Keane and Holgate and an experienced CF either on loan or short term deal.

Silva can't be 100% to blame for this mess, the players have a lot to answer for, the board in particular Brands- never replaced us with a proper centre forward. Sidibe put in 2 superb crosses today that a real striker would of being in on and scored. DCL is not a striker! He's being plagued by injuries and playing with inferior replacements. He's out of his depth yes, but player's on 50k + who don't bother there hole should be ashamed, don't know how they can look at silva in the face!
