Heitinga looked good against Swansea, I must say.

I think it's mainly because we had 2 new players in there and a central defence partnership which hasn't been used since March.

Thought he looked very sloppy against Swansea mate. Thats just my opinion though.
Also, for someone with the armband tonight, he wasnt very vocal.

It's hard to be vocal from the centerback role, especially when you're being bombarded with wave after wave of Leeds attack.

When Neville came on though he put everyone back into their appropriate position and we played the ball around a bit better.

'Fans' on Twitter having a go at Neville now saying he flicked the v's at the away fans tonight.

1) As if he'd be that stupid
2) He's not the kind of person to do that kind of thing. If there's one thing you can't say about Neville is that he doesn't treat the fans well.

I refuse to believe that, Neville is one of the most professional players we have at the club.

Some real beauts out there, fair play.

Mucha- Didn't do anything of note good or bad.
Coleman- He defended pretty well on the whole but didn't get forward much.
Heitinga- I wasn't impressed with him.
Distin- Dithered on the ball and was slow pushing out but took his goal well.
Oviedo- Looked pretty good going forward. Hard to judge defensively.
Junior- The game passed him by.
Mirallas- Seemed to have trouble getting on the ball.
Fellaini- Too deep in the later stages. He should have been up with Jelavic.
Gueye- Hardly did anything at all.
Anichebe- He did alright but didn't have a lot of support or service.
Naismith- I like the look of him.

Subs
Pienaar- Still doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders.
Neville- It's looking increasingly like his time is up.
Jelavic- It was difficult for him coming into the game with 20 minutes remaining.

Moyes- Can't really fault his team selection and he was decisive enough to make the double substitution at half-time. I don't think he'd do too much differently if he had to do it again.

For their first goal we gave the ball away too cheaply in a dangerous area and we weren't set defensively. Heitinga and Distin didn't need to be so far apart trying to receive the ball from the 'keeper. And the second goal was so predictable. Someone like Neville should have been picking up on the edge of the box.

On the whole Leeds had 8 defenders versus 3 strikers and then 4 of their own forwards against 6 of our defenders. They were hungrier and got up and down the pitch with much greater urgency. We improved in the second half but our shape went to put. It looked like Pienaar was on the left but then he came inside and Mirallas turned up there. It didn't seem like we had a game plan to stretch and get in behind them. We could have had Anichebe and Mirallas running the channels for Jelavic and Fellaini and Pienaar taking turns to link up with the striker while Neville held the midfield. It just looked like anyone was playing wherever they wanted to instead though.

Fair play to Leeds tonight - they wanted it more on a miserable cold wet Yorkshire night.

Billycopper - were you watching the same game as me? Moyes was at fault for playing the lightweight Junior in what was always going to be a tricky away game. Mucha and Naismith were rubbish. Distin was our best player on the night. Pienaar and Neville steadied the ship and almost turned the game around, the former with his creativity and the the latter by organising teh team and giving us a spine.

Sidenote: Jan Mucha is ****e every time I have seen him play for us, no wonder Howard often makes mistakes; he isn't pushed at all by anybody and knows even if he plays crap his place is safe. I do wonder when we'll get another good keeper in. United have two brilliant keepers and it keeps both of them on their toes...

I wouldn't blame Mucha for nothing myself, neither goal was an easy save in any way and I don't think Tim would have made a difference tonight (It is tonight until I have slept even though it is 1am!)

Obviously not going to be true, but he does need to do the decent thing and retire ASAP.

We had to try and rest at least one from Neville, Osman and Fellaini. Who else do we have to step in and cover for them? If Moyes isn't going to use Junior in the event of an injury to his preferred players there is no point him being in the squad.

I disagree with you about Mucha and Naismith but, in any case, Moyes would rather risk them in the League Cup than in the Premier League. It's no use not playing them and then expecting them to perform if we were to have an injury crisis.

Distin very often played well behind the line of his other defenders and invited the Leeds forwards to get in behind his colleagues.

We did look more composed with Neville and Pienaar on but I don't think they did anything that special individually. It could have been that sending on the big guns and a half time team talk woke the side up to the fact that they were second best.

OK we weren't sh1te and the ref is to blame for us being knocked out by a mid-table championship side. Does that suit your agenda.

grow up. we all know we played cr*p but mason gave us nothing and he gave leeds the benefit of the doubt in everything. my agenda f`chrisakes? he was awful, you dont agree, its the inter-web etc
