Moist always plays pretty strong sides in cups unless its against really gash lower league sides.

And Leeds at Ellend Road is gonna be a very tough game so i'd expect a solid core with maybe a couple of players who didn't play at the weekend to come in.

Probably :

Howard
Coleman Jagielka Heitinga Baines
Naismith Osman Neville Pienaar
Mirallas
Anichebe

Maybe Distin in def and Heitinga taking Nevilles place at dm.

Sounds the most likely. I'm expecting a tough game and for that mega-tit Warnock to send them out to boot fcuk out of our players.

I think Moyes will put out a close to full strength side. Something like this:

__________Howard
Coleman Heitinga Distin Baines
Naismith Neville Osman Oviedo
________Mirallas
_____________Anichebe

Think Neville could probably do with a rest personally. He's had more time on the pitch for us this season than anyone and he's our oldest player. Not really sure who could replace him though unless Junior is ready to step up?

.....................Mucha...................
Coleman.....Heitinga.......Duffy....Oviedo..
Naismith.....Junior........Osman....Gueye..
.................... Mirallas.....................
.....................Vellios..................
Subs-
Howard
Baines
Neville
Jagielka
Distin
Kennedy
Anichebe

Hard to believe the last time we played at Elland Road was that Wayne Rooney ace goal in 2004

That is the only Everton match I have seen live, strange to be there with my Leeds mate trying to look sad when he scored.

Although this looks like a straight forward victory, I dont think it will be. Leeds will be up for it and Everton may not have the same passion... It seems players dont take this competition very seriously.. Also, can see Moyes making some changes and resting some players... I hope we win though... Would love to batter them!!!

I wonder how strong the team will be that he puts out. I reckon Gueye and Oviedo will get a run out. I reckon it will be Heitinga and Distin at centre back. I reckon they'll be right up for it so it's not any walk in the park.

Team selection probably reflects the priority you place on the league cup in comparison to the prem. Personally, in the early rounds of the cup I expect a slightly weakened team to do the business. I want my squad players to have a chance to show what they can do. If we get knocked out, so be it - the target for this year is 4th place and I don't think a cup run would be beneficial to our chances of finishing 4th all the time our squad is small. If we get to the 1/4 finals with a weakened team then I can handle putting out a stronger lineup in a bid to win the Cup. But if we don't get 4th place and European qualification, we risk losing Felli for less than he's worth come the summer.

With Gibson and Jelavic out, Felli and Anichebe are TEMPORARILY irreplaceable, so I'd be very reluctant to start them in this game. Coleman looked good at RB against both Leyton Orient and more recently against Swansea; Jags and Baines have earned a rest (particularly Baines, who was kicked halfway to the moon by Swansea's grocks). Neville needs a rest - not to say he's earned it, but he is clearly showing signs that regular games are not realistic anymore.

In midfield Osman needs a break and Naismith needs more game time. Gueye looked lively against Orient and Pienaar, like Baines, has played an awful lot and taken a kicking in the process. Felli has earned a break and I want to see what Junior can do. Still hoping that Moyes picks up either Hitzlsperger or Hargreaves too.

Up front, if Vellios doesn't play in this game then why isn't he out on loan?

So:

Howard

Coleman - Duffy - Heitinga (c) - Oviedo

Naismith - Junior - Hitzlsperger - Gueye

Vellios - Mirallas

Bench: Mucha, Hibbo, Distin, Felli, Pienaar, Cheebs and McAleny

Mirallas free to swap with Gueye or Naismith as and when. Obviously if neither Hitzl or Hargreaves join, then Felli starts in CM and either Osman or Neville gets the bench. Ideally we go in at the half with a two goal lead and Mirallas, Heitinga and Coleman come off unharmed after 60ish minutes. If chasing a result, we can bring Felli, Peinaar and Cheebs on.
