Leeds/Reading festival 2012

Just come back and my word, never wanted a dump so much in my life.

Foo fighters, black keys, florence, cure, kasabian, spector were class i thought.

Came back on Saturday night after been there since Wednesday. I think I'm getting too old for festivals. I just left my tent there as it leaked like hell

I thought the Foo Fighters were mediocre and dragged every song out as long as they could to fill the time out. Maybe my expectations were too high, having never seen them before though.

this is literally the lowest i've ever been in my life, absolutely fucking goosed.

Futureheads were my highlight, went to see them as I used to play cricket with one of the lads in the band and they were really impressive

The Cribs and the Courteeners were both class, Kasabian quality even though i had a bit of a bad buzz during their set. Overall unreal festival and was a lot better than last year thanks partly to the weather which was more than acceptable. Loved every minute

My first festival was sonisphere about 3 years ago. Came back wjth swine flu, it was boss

i'm a Download veteran and braved Leeds once ('08 in the hope of seeing slipknot again, but joey broke his ankle) the people are arrogant and unfriendly, best band of the weekend was Alkaline Trio, it was really muddy and there was a boss stall with award winning sausages, the hog and apple was amazing!!
Anyway, Download is amazing - the people are all lovely, big community spirit and fantastic bands, Leeds has a better set up - the car park location is perfect (Download car park is like a mile away from the gates then a further 10 mins from the (closest) campsites) Sonisphere is good, its a bit surreal though as you can stand at the front and not be crushed, the stage layouts at soni for me is the best - two main stages so you don't miss a band!
Hard Rock Hell Road Trip is the best for sleeping accomodation - hotels, clean toilets, your own personal shower and breakfast, plus the weather is better, but the festival venue is pretty poor!

Don't use the plastic boxes if you can help it. Long drops are much better, if they have them. Not been for the best part of 20yrs but there used to be proper, flushing toilets in the arena at Reading.

Don't know if it still happens either, but Sunday night [Poor language removed] used to trash the campsite and kick half the toilets over. You might want to swerve that.

Otherwise, festies are pretty much thr most fun you can have.

Long Drops
The ones at Leeds are pretty good - dug into the ground, clean as can be expected, the ones they had at Download a few times are disgusting, splashbacks off other people, stinking to high heaven and aren't dug in - i refused to use them and wee'd in the portaloo's in the arena or wandered to the pub or airport about 1.5miles away when the arena was shut, until 2010 when i discovered the proper toilet block near the racetrack - running water is such a novelty at a festival!!
Portaloo's at download are usually pretty good on the campsites, emptied twice daily, cleaned regularly, no arguments!

Question: Does the average GOT user shower whilst at a festival or do you all stay sweaty as [Poor language removed] the whole weekend?

baby wipe baths, the way forward, the showers are grim!

seen a lass getting licked out in one of the long drop cubicles at Leeds this year like.
She was the spitting image of lenny henry as well, as if it wasn't bad enough licking a lass out in a ****stained cubicle. Some things stay with you forever. I feel this may be one of those things.

Seen a stunner (not joking she was lovely) leave the horrible toilets at 9am, can of Skol in hand. Also seen a girl go in just before I did and it sounded like she'd let a lot of pigeons loose in her cubicle.
