Him being there in an honorary role would be great - just keep him away from anything to do with the actual running of the club

Strangely enough ,for many people, Bill being involved even 'honorary' after a takeover would give us a voice and supporter in the 'inner sanctum' of the club, which as you say would be a good thing, and might even become important. All depends how well Bill is, mind you, he may not be fit enough to watch us win a cup.

Pretty sure that would be a minor detail in any agreement. Well, it should be!

@The Esk could this possible scenario be current boards way to make transition safer etc. ..
 
It isnt that unusual. Think Charlton at United, John Hall at Newcastle I am sure had some weird title when he sold up.

Means jack in the scheme of things, just gives a nod to the tradition of a club after a change of ownership.
Let the man retire in peace and look after his health. He hasn't really done anything for us. Let him go back to being a supporter like the rest of us.
