Quite. IF something is going on, then someone who knows something has told this bloke. The reason why, one can only guess at.

The reason why I think something is going on is that a few of the nationals finally started questioning the current EFC board in articles a few weeks ago. It was commented on in this thread. The wind was starting to blow in a different direction and journos who previously may not have wanted to upset the hierarchy finally felt empowered to do so, perhaps because they sensed they're finally on their way out.

The exclusivity was related to due diligence but that would not stop anyone who had previously examined the books from making an offer, or someone new making a conditional offer to the Board. Obviously someone new would not have access to the books during the exclusivity period.

Thanks for the info, was just daydreaming if somebody had come in and made a better offer than the yanks, might be the reason for the rumors its stalled, suppose we will find out soon enough

Thing we have to remember on this is being taken over now isnt as important as it would of been a few years ago. With all the money coming in and FFP it's not as big an issue as it was for Man City who got bought out at a time when you could buy your way to the top. Either way i still hope when we do get sold it isn't to these two, so if its off i wont worry about it, the future of Everton isn't going to be sorted over night with a with a buy out from these guys now that the financial field of play as changed.

Would need someone new to come in for arsenal. Kroenke is the majority shareholder and is privately funding the majority of a $2bn stadium for his NFL team he just relocated to LA. Can't see him having the money to buy up that guys 15%. Of course with arsenals sustained success making CL and new owner it probably wouldn't be hard to find takers

I still think a takeover is important because although the names changed, martinez is still operating somewhat under the wigan way of doing things.

the difference between them is that he has much more financial leeway to bring in the young players he wants without the need to sell anyone. But at the same time, if we were better run and gave roberto more money to operate with then perhaps he could be drawing in proper talent rather than hopefuls with the money he has.

What i mean is this isnt going to change under the current board, so unless there is a incoming for the first team (or yarms) then effectively we are selling naismith for the price of roughly byram tarashaj and foulds. Great business by the manager if one of them alone is good enough but generally a better ran club business wise would be able to give roberto a bigger scope than he currently has, and for every besic out there there is a young 17 year old haazard to be grabbed lol

My understanding is that if an inflated sponsorship deal is with a connected person/company UEFA can look into it and deem a commercial rate.
However, this avenue could be explored in terms of funding a ground.
FFP has been diluted but not deleted unfortunately.

I've read elsewhere that the deal is dead with the Americans, can't say I'm surprised or disappointed, they look like asset strippers and I imagine some of our financial arrangements would make anyone with an eye on making a fast buck run a mile.
