Dont get me wrong, it wasnt great, I also watched it in 2 halfs, was bored so watched the 2nd half.

I do often do this actually, and they are almost always better.

Not the Lord of the Rings though, the films are way better.

Its not a case of books being better,its just id you read the book first your imagination has already decided how thing look and sound so very rarely is the film going to match your vision of the story

tough comparison to make, they only really took the concept and some of the existential aspects from the book, but the film is very much scott's own vision

Imo, Scott puts much more "flesh " into the concept and really brings it to life.

i'd agree with that, i enjoyed the book, but the film is a classic, top class sci fi, and feels so much 'larger' than the book, for want of a superior vocabulary on my part

Louder than Bombs

Joachim Trier's new film about a family dealing with the death of their mum, really melancholic. Love it. If you liked his previous film, Oslo, August 31st - you will like this.
