Last Film You Watched

Watched a TV movie, based on a true story, called Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey. I wasn't sure about watching it at first, but it wasn't too bad.

A 17-year-old girl uses reverse psychology to get her kidnapper to set her free. When she returns home, the only person who believes her story is a veteran detective who realises a notorious serial killer took her.

Are you going to watch?
Tried, eventually ran out of steam. She seems to have been in some sort of very controlling cult, and then finds the handsome outsider chap the cult automatically dislikes. 'bout as far as I got. A fairer hour broadcast and I'd have persevered.
The other film, 'Men' is on tonight, similarly bad hour though. Film4 10:50pm.
Besides going up against QT, there's an old favourite on as well...

it's been some descent...
Don’t knock the Sly man… Remember, he won an academy award for the first Rocky film! 🫢

That’s my bad, I legit thought that was a Spielberg, not sure why. Maybe confused by Hanks, but even then they’ve only worked together a handful of times.

So skip Forrest Gump and just watch actual Spielberg movies.
It couldn’t have been Spielberg anyway.

At the same time in 1994, when Gump was released, Spielberg was balls deep into making one of his masterpieces: Jurassic Park…

I watched it the other week, as a horror/comedy it's not too bad, the 2 lead roles play off each other well and the are a few chuckles in there,if you take it for what it actually is a B movie aimed mainly for teens then it's enjoyable
Just watched this movie. Have to to agree with this assessment. Almost like a B grade ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’, or ‘The Thing’, but with a bit of comedy.

Just been to see The Bride!

I think it is going to be a very marmite film but I really enjoyed it. It’s a bit of a mess admittedly but thought there was a lot to like.

Firstly, let’s get the obvious out of the way, Jessie Buckley is fantastic again. Bale is really good playing a very different version of the monster. The rest of the supporting cast do a good job too, particularly Cruz and Benning. The film looks amazing and the music is really good too. It’s also just good to see a very different take on a story we are all so familiar with.

It is mad though and a bit all over the place so I can definitely see people not liking it or actively hating it.

Been on a bit of a 'watch some movies from the 90's that I've never seen' binge. The last two I watched were Red Rock West (Nicholas Cage, Dennis Hopper), and A Murder of Crows (Cuba Gooding Jr and some others)

Both were alright. Never gonna trouble my favourite movies list, but alright.
