Good one, I agree Tbh, a lot of these actors need a chance to show they can act instead of getting the usual guff
Bautista gives it a go, Bruce Lee wasn't a classic super buff monster, can't stand the rock films. Problem in Hollywood for colossal sized actors is pairing them up with equivalent leading ladies. Brigitte Nielsen was a bit of a one off. So it's easier to sign up 'the super hunks', so gibson, cruise, banderas, pitt, clooney. Not a one of 'em 6 feet tall.

Jesse Ventura as Blain in Predator wasn`t too shabby. - ( granted he didn`t have to do anything too taxing, but he made that part his own and ad libbed one of the all time great lines in it too )

Burt Reynolds was pretty buff in Deliverance - won an Oscar.

Tom Hardy as Baine - Dark Knight ( I know he bulked up for the part )

Multiple Christian Bale films - inc the Dark Knight and American Psycho - I know he bulks up or slims down dependant on the part.

I don`t think being bulky is the problem, it`s not being able to act in the first place:lol:
I was talking about the Arnie, Sylvester Stallone etc

I was trying to wind people up anyway and now I feel bad

The Rocks eyebrow has a wide variety of raising

Think Alec Guinness took 2% of the box office and Mark Hamill had a load of royalties written into his contract - every time the film was shown, he got a cut etc, maybe even merchandise too.
And Harrison Ford? If not the Star Wars franchise, then he must have at least taken a cut of the Indiana Jones franchise?

His was slightly different, in that he got paid an upfront fee and then a percentage of the box office after a certain amount had been taken.

I think the studios realised that after Star Wars, that it was potentially very risky for them to be giving out contracts related to takings and tweaked the contracts accordingly.

Was never as bad as Steven Seagal, that fellas life was plagued by woodpeckers
You (and everyone else here) is probably already familiar with him but the youtuber "Space Ice" should be followed for his reviews of Seagal films
I just want to make one more comment regarding Steven Seagal, lads… Maybe it’ll give us a viable insight into why his acting is so rubbish?

To me, it looks the bloke is confused about his identity. He doesn’t know who he is!

I mean, he acts Asian, he dresses and looks like a Native American, and believe it or not, but ‘Seagal’ is actually a prominent Jewish last name. It’s up there with ‘Cohen’, ‘Goldberg’, ‘Levi’, ummm, ‘Epstein’, etc… Well, you get the point, lol.

So then, how can someone who is clearly suffering from an identity crisis, be expected to give a decent, or at least competent genuine acting performance?

Some food for thought, lads. 🤔

Everyone says his acting is rubbish, but perhaps we should instead celebrate all the anecdotes he has given his colleagues down the years.

Personally I have two favourites:

(the second one is NSFW due to rude words)

Can believe I’ve only just discovered that Spider in Goodfellas (shot in the foot by Joe Pesci’s, Tommy) was played by Michael Imperioli - The Sopranos Christopher Moltisanti.

Too add to that, while Karen Hill / Lorraine Bracco was famously also in both, along with Frank Vincent, I never realised Tony Sirico, Vincent Pastore were in Goodfellas too.

There's actually 27 actors featured in both!

The community of mob actors is a small but prominent one.

Saying all that, still the maddest bit of casting in any of those films is Don Rickles in Casino.
