Last Film You Watched

Captain America: Brave New World. I quite liked it tbh. Was a bit darker and more serious/political than previous ones/other Marvel films. Still got some laughs quips etc, but less of them. Saw the trailer again for Thunderbolts before it. Will defo try and see that, looks good.

Sorry, couldnt find the upcoming films thread, finally a trailer.

Been looking forward to this for ages!

On February 19, 2021, it was announced that The Raid's Gareth Evans was attached to direct the film from a screenplay he wrote under his exclusive deal with Netflix. Evans was also announced as a producer on the film alongside Tom Hardy and Ed Talfan for Severn Screen as well as Aram Tertzakian and Raúl Reynoso of XYZ Films.[2]

Alongside the initial announcement, Hardy was cast in a lead role.[2] Forest Whitaker was added to the cast the following month.[3] In June 2021, Timothy Olyphant, Justin Cornwell, Jessie Mei Li, and Yeo Yann Yann joined the main cast, with Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, Sunny Pang, and Michelle Waterson cast in supporting roles.[4]

The film began principal photography on July 8, 2021, in Cardiff, Wales, where production predominantly took place. The film is "one of the biggest films ever to be produced in Wales" and left a "lasting legacy for filmmakers".[5][1] Hardy was sighted at the Barry Island Pleasure Park in South Wales and outside the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea in July and August 2021 respectively.[6][7][8] On October 22, 2021, filming officially wrapped.[9]

According to director Gareth Evans, the film needed reshoots, which were delayed due to scheduling issues and the SAG-AFTRA strike.[10] On July 20, 2024, Evans posted on his Instagram that 2 weeks of reshoots had wrapped, and that they are now aiming for a Q1 2025 release

Clockers directed and produced by Spike Lee. Just a brilliant film and a visually descriptive match to pretty much the best of 90's rap music IMO. Scocese produced and Harvey Keitel plays the detective.

Wicked, exactly what you want from a movie converted musical, Glinda the weaker of the 2 characters performed by Ariana Grande the other actress Cynthia who plays elfaba has a stunning voice she was great in Bad Times at El Royale too. Great music great visually too enjoyed a lot.

Beetlejuice still not seen the latest one so revisited this, seemed much better in my memory but peak Michael Keaton and young Alec Baldwin amd Geena Davies along with Winona Ryder was a decent cast looking back now. Dark silly and different, will see now what the new one is like hopefully this week

Everything Everywhere All At Once.

It was on Film4 the other night.

I`m so glad I missed this when it was out on the cinema, what a load of tosh.

Switched over after an hour.

No idea how it won all the awards it done, utter garbage.

I wasn't liking it at the start but by the end I loved it. For me it was just crazy and original and lots of fun. Will have to watch again at some point.

I didn't fully get why it got so "mainstream" popular as it's a bit bonkers, but the awards didn't surprise me

Oh and I watched a great, funny and very sweet animated movie last week. Memoir of a Snail. Loved it

Then watched Flow and thought at the start it looked nice but atmosphere was weird, but thought it was great. No dialogue, weird little world and the interaction between the animals was often very funny without trying to hard to be.

I just couldn’t get into it at all and I normally love stuff like this.

I did think Jamie Lee Curtis was brilliant in her role though.
