I preferred this to Parasite, not that they're in competition either each other, just they're both recent highly-regarded and excellent Korean movies. Hard to fault this film as you say but the ending of Parasite reminded me of Python's 'Salad Days' sketch (and I struggled to get that out of my head while watching it), so The Handmaiden takes it.The Handmaiden

Yeah, i probably prefer this too. I thought Parasite was great for the unexpected, but this is more my type of film.
I definitely prefer the more non-violent of Korean cinema - film such as Burning, Mother etc.
Hopefully some Tv shows come out more in this vein, i've not been fussed at all with the more hyper-reality violent style that seem to be more popular.
'The Ring' (2002) Having watched the original I'm waiting for the smug wooden 8 year old to get cleavered all over the show. Finally some entertainment hopefully. The rest of it is worse than rubbish. Shambles!
Watched 'A star is born' and 'The blind side' over the weekend. Both worth a watch.
