Marriage story

Very good and believable story, and the acting was superb - as expected from Scarlett and Driver. Only part I didn’t like was a scene involving Scarletts mother and sister in a kitchen. Didn’t like the acting here one bit (Scarlett not included).

The Current War. Top notch cast can't save something murdered by the Director and the DOP. Weird lens choices and odd angles - hand held shenanigans when it needed a steady hand to tell the story. The editing is bizarre. A really short scene early on and i counted 25 cuts. Reading that it's also factually incorrect which puts it straight into the bin category.

Spotlight. More like a TV movie - it's a really solid picture, good acting with zero creative liberties, cast, direction, design - and subject matter treated with absolute respect. The revelations along the way do fall a little flat sometimes but on the whole a story that needed telling about a story that needed telling.

I love Nicholas Hoult but that film was a pile of dog wank.

Speaking of Filth though he could really have done with our depression thread! He was failed by most people in that film.

I seen the Current War, i thought it was an odd subject for a film but to then not get it historically right was just bizzare
