Honestly HOW does anyone not see how bad Bohemian Rhapsody is?

It's a TV movie standard at best but EVERYONE loves it.

This scene for me sums up how cheap, dull and utterly ridiculous one of the KEY elements and pinnacle parts of Freddie Mercury's life and they wrote and filmed this

Tell me that is awful

Just watched it.
Enjoyed it actually.
The fact the drummer is a lad off Eastenders was off putting like..
But it was decent enough.

I felt it was an ok film, didn't feel excessively long and quite entertaining but I don't think it should have been oscar winning material. The problem for me is that it takes quite a lot of liberties with the real events and timeline. People who don't pay that much attention will see this as gospel and that is sad they will have been misled.

The upcoming Elton John biopic looks like it could be a far better film as John himself is happy for it to be a warts and all account, whereas Taylor and May were just interested in protecting their reputations.

The Leg-End of Tarzan - a movie made of lots of other movies where Lord Gym returns to the Belgian Congo to save the helpless warrior natives...

My thoughts on this
  • I know it's historically accurate but, the Belgians are the bad guys lol
  • Speaking of accuracy there's not a single carton of Um-Bongo anywhere in the fillum so...
  • It was good to see the lads from Planet of the Apes get some more work
  • Samuel Jackson seems to have wandered in from a Tarantino fillum shooting next door.
  • Margot Robbie is very fit even though she is made almost entirely of teeth
  • In the interest of balance, whichever one of the Skarsgards it is is also very fit, even though he is made almost entirely of wood.
  • Bit miffed they didn't use the Baltimora tune
All in all, a bit crap apart from one very funny line. Interestingly the director's partner is Theo Walcott's aunt apparently. He's also a wool.

I quite enjoyed it but it's definitely TV movie or pop video production standards in parts. If you split it down into scenes and look at them separately then it's got a lot of technical and storytelling flaws (Best editing oscar ) but it's by no means an awful film.

It is in parts quite an admirable salvage job of what was apparently a car crash of a production given that the original lead left very late in the day and original director both left after shooting a lot of material.
