Man, you guys are embarassing. We are absolutely hurting for players and we have the chance to get the best American outfield player of the last 20 years on loan for three months.

Yet this still isn't good enough for some of you? Seriously?

Jeez. Really poor here in all honesty. I expect more from felloow Evertonians who I consider "informed."

Get over yourself and get past that he's American.

That's the clubs transfer policy matey. And now look where we are in the league:D.

Transfer policy?

Moyes said he would only bring players in on loan with a view to a permanent move. That I don't have a problem with. I would have welcomed the move in that case.

But to me, a ten week holiday with seemingly no view to a permanent deal makes no sense to me, especially for a player with no experience in a decent league.

Players will be back by the time he arrives and if we get more injuries, I would sooner play our young lads than to give a home sick American a 10 week holiday.

This will be the only Moyes transfer that I've been against.

Bit harsh to call the best player in for the country ranked only five places below England a no mark pal.

We're giving a 27-year-old no mark (in that he's completely unproven in any decent league) a 10 week trial holiday.

There's no fee and he could prove a decent extra attacking player to have around at a vital time of the season.

£65,000 a week isn't it?

The only benefit I can see is that its an extra body, and that it'll generate some more interest from America.

Just seems a bit odd to me.

Players will be back by the time he arrives and if we get more injuries, I would sooner play our young lads than to give a home sick American a 10 week holiday. Its looking more likely that Arteta and Jagielka won't return until the end of Jan. Coupled with players leaving for the ANC it makes perfect sense to bring him in for no fee.

This will be the only Moyes transfer that I've been against. What about Koldrup you liar.

Moves pawn diagonally and takes bishop*

All this and the fact hes been questionable - abroad!

Moyes says alot about Transfers and the ones that get mentioned always turn to nothing or have strings attached - there's a list of **** ups.

I just dont think we can do any better. I bet Moyes will come out and say that when the window closes.

He wouldnt play any of the kids either. He only players them when hes down the bare bones.

Donavan will play but could back fire if he has a stinker and sulks.

Well [Poor language removed]. Then I guess you wrote of Howard, Dempsey, Reyna, and every other USA player who played in the unproven MLS before they came over huh?

Or is this one somehow different?

Do they have to have played in a big league to be able to help us? Does his international pedigree and accomplishments count for nothing?

I mean the way your talking, it sounds like he's good for a few own goals and injuring a few of our players in training before coming back.

To quote you: "Behave."

Are you judging him on not making an impression in the Bundesliga? Do you consider International Football not to be a decent league standard?

£65,000 a week isn't it? Is that confirmed?

The only benefit I can see is that its an extra body, and that it'll generate some more interest from America. Extra exposure in a growing soccer market is always welcome.

Its not the best, but he failed miserably there. They wouldn't even extend his loan - saying they prefer squad fillers to be young with perspective. Which is my point.

There will be plenty of players out there with experience who we could bring in on loan with a view to a permanent move.

This will be the only Moyes transfer that I've been against. What about Koldrup you liar.

I thought he would be decent

Will the transfer benefit Everton in the long term? No. He's just signed a new contract and is scared of leaving America.

So, will the transfer benefit Everton in the short term? Maybe. Who's to know? I doubt it though, given that he has never performed in decent league.

Seems trivial to me, we shouldn't be bringing players in for 10 weeks with no intention to make the move permanent. Thats my issue.

GOT's just seems more pissed off that its just 10 weeks. Especially when Moyes takes his time to bed players in, Donovan has to hit the ground running.

But then Donovan isnt playing for a move so he may not give his all in the limited time.

Im with GOT on this.

No one is saying he may not have something to offer, that said he has a lot to prove.

Its the context of the deal, 10 weeks, big ifs over adjustments, no future signing, there is just no long term progression in any of this and thats what we should be looking at.

Its not in our long term interest. Even in our worst days we had better short term deals than this.

The press conference was to announce he had signed a new contract. That to me means theres no realistic chance of signing him after the loan, which makes it pointless and small time.

No, thats cos he's coming to help with short term problems. And once again, may i bring your attention to Article A, David Beckham and AC Milan.

Him not to get a game. (y)

Well if this happens, then you are right. But only then. Unless he's 'gash'.

Winner against Carlisle nailed on here.

PS: Bill's going to shoot you in your sleep there.

This and that.

Ofcourse, Internationals don't count for anything. At all.

We have a Winner!!! *ding ding ding*

And like we can turn down more interest in America. Btw, how did Beckham's (him again!) transfer to Madrid work out for them, comercially? Or Hidetoshi Nakata? Remember him?
