sometimes i can be over critical and i admit moyes has done well. i still see football as an entertainment first and not a business, maybe i'm wrong, maybe in still want the mid eighties, maybe i love the wrong team (i don't!!!) but i love pure football, pass and move football like i know we can play, and when we play it we are great to watch, why don't we play this football all the time, why do we start hoofing, why do we drop back when we go ahead, this is what gets to me. am i expecting to much? i have 3 children two boys and a girl, my boys are everton fanatics at 5 and 6. do i want them to suffer like i have ( all evertonians will know what i mean) yes i ******* do!!

we are everton, we are different and lets never forget that!!

The thing is in the last few years I've seen us scent blood against teams like Hull and Sunderland and just crush them.

We don't do that against the big boys (or in derbies/european matches). Once we get on top and get ourselves a good lead, we start worrying about throwing it away. I'm hoping that a few more wins as comfortable as this one and we'll start realizing we don't have to.

i hope so mate, it worries me the way we seem to go into our shell when we go ahead.

on a positive note, 3 clean sheets. 2 wins on the bounce and 5 points of third.

It wasn't when we went ahead though. There was a good ten minutes after our second where they didn't get a sniff.

We went in our shells when they started looking lively and we all went "oh, god we better not throw this away here."

I've been critical of some of his tactics, questionable at best, negative at worse, but if you're going to dish out criticism, you should be able to dish out praise, and I thought he nailed it today.

For starters, I think his lineup was the best he could have really done. And the subs, although forced, were spot on for once. Positive too -- bringing on Beckford was a good sub, because he took the pressure off a bit. And when I saw Hibbert warming up I thought "oh great, off goes Coleman and He'll slot NEv on the right". Happy to be proven wrong there.

So well in Davie. Still think we could have been a tad more ruthless -- Cahill's tactical free kick was OTT negative (should be pelting that in the box) -- but a clean sheet and 3 points against the [Poor language removed] has made my weekend. Thanks Davie.

Agreed - though the sitting back for 20 mins for no good reason wasn't over popular by me today , like .

I agree. We did let them play too much then, especially on the half way line and nearing our final third.

Put a challenge in HALF WAY LINE.

Not sure if they were sitting back or what. But when you're trying to dominate another team you've got to disrupt them further up the pitch. So kind of agree.

If he is matching his potential than no mate, I have been clear on that. I will give praise when he is spot on. Although today I thought he invited too much pressure when we really should have battered these today.

I thought that ghost, but then it dawned on me. They were knackered. We played them off the park first half, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. 2nd half after Arteta scored, we were shattered and moyes perhaps gambled on soaking up the pressure by parking the bus. If our players were superfit Jason Bourne types then I'd be pissed. But, the effort in the first half was Stella. We gave Geerard way too much time on the ball second half, and if he'd had better players around him, would of punished us.

Let me sum up. This should never be forgotten and we should thank god every day!!!!!!!!!!
