Knee-Jerk Reaction or Wake Up Call?

We cannot go any further. Too many times now we have been so close to taking the next step up but have hit that glass ceiling.

Be it board incompetence/lack of money, Moyes incompetence/lack of spending money or a combination of both EFC cannot improve its standing as a club any more than it is now. We are unlikely to break into the big 4. The club doesnt have the money and Moyes does not have the ability.

Moyes knows that. If he stays we tread water for 5 years. If he goes whatever club he goes to will improve but will never break the big 4 so he will end up in the position he is now.

We need funds or we need a new manager.

Either might work out or they might not but right now we are hitting a brick wall.

You never know, Moyes out and un-named new manager* in and he could be the man to get the players we have now, who are a very talented lot, playing the football that will break that glass ceiling.

Or he could get us relegated!

*Get Martin Jol in

A lot of fans are off on one about our negative style of play and Moyes lack of tactical nouse.

Moyes is no great tactician. What he is is a fantastic motivator. He is struggling with that at the moment and that’s why we are so poor both in execution and results.

I don’t think he has made his job any easier (with the players) by publicly admitting he has let them all down. He’s given them the perfect excuse to switch off. I should think its no easy task to galvanise them after all that has happened. He has said many times that the team spirit he has engendered relies on him improving the squad appropriately to allow them to kick on. He has failed to do that adequately this year and is now bearing the consequences.

I say it needs time. But I just hope dM has not already given up. Going out of Europe Thursday could be the end for him.

In fact Moyes is letting himself and us down. To have a moan in public about the contract as though this is why we are havinga poor start perhaps affirms his lack of tactical awareness.

I find this site pretty laughable. I told you this would happen. I told you that the club was a shambles and had gone backwards, but you just laughed.

I know mate. There were a few that could clearly see past the lies. But Kenwright is a blue after all mate, isn't he.

I wasnt laughing...just didnt agree...and ok fair enough i may have been wrong, and you right, but i still think you have a very (unfair) negative opinion of kenwright!! But it does appear that there was no money, and he was either lying or very optimistic....

People either blame it all on Moyes or blame it all on Kenwright.

What I will say is Kenwright has nothing to do with the horrible style of play we are using at the moment. Moyes has to take some blame, the fact that during 3/4 of his stay here we've played [Poor language removed] football is unnceptable and needs to be changed.

That's all that matters to me at the moment, the team on the pitch.

Cal I have said for ages dont trust Kenwright, the coach at our Harry's mini kickers told me at the end of last season the fans will be shocked at the small amount of cash available,he also said Moyes and Kenwright were arguing so far I reckon hes right pity our Harry's moved up and cant train with the kickers this year.the joke is the coach paid for by Everton in the community has given him a good appreciation of tactics for an 8 year old and he was moaning about the tactics on Saturday(y)

Cal, good things have been made. I don't think it would be wise to throw it all to the wind.

We haven't progressed, indeed. Does this mean Moyes has to go? Or is our system worn out?

I don't think any of the questions are true.

Sometimes we have to take a step backwards in order to be able to give two steps forward.

It all depends on what we are doing throughout this season. Will we build a stronger side for the next season? The answer to this question holds our future.

I'd say Moyes was never an expert in the transfer market. I think he could use some help from a sports director, even knowing it wouldn't be easy to find the perfect man for the job (examples from other clubs show us that some issues over the ego may arise).

A good run in the UEFA Cup would be a good thing. Getting qualification for the next season European competitions also.

Right now we can qualify through only one of the cups as we've been thrown out of the other. We still can win the UEFA Cup and we still can fight for League place qualification and we still have the Intertoto thing.

We should be focusing on having a good side, prepared to reach some heights by January. Then, sign one or two key players just to tune the squad so we can face the last 4 months of EPL in a strong position.

Let's wait and see what Moyes still has to offer us.

nobody likes ''i told you so''.

but I'll indulge you, please, wont you explain to me exactly how the club is a shambles and has gone backwards.
