Kindle Fire 7

I have an original Kindle Fire that is rooted with Jelly Bean on it. In it's original Kindle config, it was good as a content delivery device, but rooter and a proper version of Android makes it a proper tablet. It is so much better as a tablet then as a device to watch movies on.

It wasn't hard to do, and I think took me less than an hour to originally upgrade to a MIUI Ice Cream Sandwich, before going to the Vanilla Google experience with Jelly Bean.

If I got one of the new ones, I would be making a trip straight to XDA to get Android proper running on it (the Kindle Fire HD was successfully rooted before it was even released!)

Shocked here at your presumptions big D......................

Honestly, I don't have a clue what you said. I bought my daughter the Google Nexus for xmas and she loves it is all I know.

Well, basically, the Kindle is limited to getting stuff direct from Amazon. I turned my Kindle Fire into something like a Nexus which allows you to get content from where ever you want to (Google, Amazon or one of the many different app stores out there, or even your own computer)
