Good times,Kind Sir.Round about the same time as linderoth and Hughes.
Totally agree on KDH
The issue is during the back end of the 90's a no10 position really hit in and brought an exciting new spark to the game, as that moved on into the 21st century young kids all wanted to be that player, the longer that position progressed on, teams started looking at a sole no9 position.
Being a striker lost that no1 appeal to the younger generation, which is why today it's become so hard to find quality strikers to go around.
Strikers that would never really fit in to the professional game ( top tier ), have somehow fitted in, basically because of need..
Tactics are now gradually changing again, Cm's need to be alround players again and the No10 can hinder that if they don't also carry the other aspects..
The No6 is the new No10
Players are defined by numbers now.
The centre of the pitch is the heart of the team, really you just need 3 quality alround CM's that compliment eachother's game.
Garner + KDH both already do that, Armstrong carries those traits and looks to be the perfect fit..
When you have missing parts in your team, that centre gets ripped apart cleaning up for others.
Zat being Zat.
He'd play Dibling at 10 even though he has precious little experience of playing there but rejects the idea of playing N'dayie there despite the fact that he played there for Sheff U.

For the second time this season arguably.played better when we were down to 10 and was deeper
Funny that playing in his actual position does thatplayed better when we were down to 10 and was deeper

To answer your points ZatTotally agree and its good we have midfielders like Garner & Armstrong who are all rounders. KDH a bit more focused on attacking but he and one of those other two makes a nice balance.
We have two 10s and dont use either of them correctly. We also have 2 progressive full backs and neither is being favoured by Moyes.
As you say forwards are different now, Kroupi and Rayan for example can be developed there. That means they (Iraola) will be building and growing something for the future.
Something we dont currently have with our manager.
Moyes being Moyes uses KDH out of position.
I'd use KDH in his correct position alongside Garner.
So, if thats "Zat being Zat" then that makes me better than Moyes.
I'd then use one of the other players whether thats Alcaraz/Dibling in the 10, Iroegbunam as the destroyer, Rohl as the presser or Armstrong as an all rounder.
So, using players to benefit the team with their unique skillsets.
Zat being Zat, again better than were seeing from Moyes.
Dibling has always been used as a 10 until Russell Martin used him as a right winger. The same kind of thing as Moyes using Armstrong on the right.
Do you think Armstrong is a right winger? Or is that Jazzy being Jazzy?
