So looking at incomings, the signings he’s paid money for have all performed with the exception of Maupay. Onana and Garner now carry values significantly higher than what we paid for them.
Tarkowski Gueye and I suspect Danjuma will all be key first team players this season and arrived for only a small outlay.
In terms of outgoings the star assets have been sold for what I’d consider the top of their value and contracts haven’t been extended for the players who have left (they could have)
Could the squad be in better shape? Absolutely. Could we have bought more players in? Yes. None of us however know the financial constraints we operate in
As far as I can see though upto now money is being spent better than it was under Brands and Walsh, and we seem to have stopped senseless contract extensions. The wage bill must be coming down as players contracts continue to expire.
If Dyche can place us mid table this season, we clear out Gbamin Gomes and any others from those days of wage largesse, we’re on the path to getting back within FFP constraints and we’ll have a team with assets in Pickford Patterson Garner
Branthwaite Onana and let’s hope Chermiti can join that group.
I know he’s not popular on here at all but it was never a 12 month job fixing the damage at the club. He needs longer before proper judgement can be made.
