Kevin Mirallas

That's hopefully where our strength in depth, or potential strength in depth will come in handy, it'll with focus him or he won't play. He's never had that at Everton. I'd see my arse if Cleverley was being picked ahead of me if I were him. That's not so easy if he has a genuine wide player, in better form playing ahead of him.

How can the fraud picked Cleverley and Kone ahead of Mirallas last season we never know.

Mirallas in particular was there and and may as well not have been. It was his ball to clear when it drifted over the head of an out of position Jagielka, and an easy clearance to make too.

So what your saying Dave is that a static Mirallas who was standing on the post should've out jumped a 6' plus player who had the run on him, of all the players you could blame for that goal Mirallas would be last to blame

He'll get a titty lip if he's left out. I think we know it. He wont last a season under Koeman. He wont indulge him the way others did.

Was left out by a con man manager for dross like Kone Cleverley and Atsu yet barely said a word. You think he's going to get his lip out when a quality manager like Koeman is pushing him with a bit of genuine competition to get the best out of him? Who indulged Mirallas exactly? Martinez certainly didn't.

He wasn't facing play. He just let the ball drift across him. The least he could do was put his body in the way of the scorer and let the ball run out for a goal kick. It looked to me like he had the attitude of "well, if Jagielka cant get his head on it, I'm not going to do the job, I'm out".

He needed to defend that post like his life depended on it. He's not alone in that in this team. They are all utterly useless at defending crosses. And before you lay it at the door of Martinez, it's been a problem at this club for years. Under Moyes it was an issue and never ever has been addressed. I think the last manger to set up right was Big Joe. Maybe we should get him on the pitches at FF?

Done and dusted. It was the clown's fault. Can't setup a defence. We did not even practice to defend set-piece.

I know that. He basically made up for what he'd conceded.

His problem is going to be what it's always been: consistency. Personally I think he's way too flaky to ever offer any team that and he'll be in and out of the team. Doesn't matter who the manager is, he's always going to blow hot and cold.

I think he's the type of pacy player who needed some consistent time gelling with his team, and he's getting that now, and getting motivation. I know it's partly RM, partly injury, partly suspension that is to blame, but he's not played consistently for a couple of years, and that's the reason we've not seen him at his best. Who would not want to play well, so if we give him a chance, ok he's not getting back into the Belgium team, but at least he'll have pride to play for, and maybe that last big transfer he might want (though I think this is his level now, and he has to make it work at Europa or CL with Everton)

He had ample opportunity under Martinez and threw it back in his face. The feller acted like a clown looking to get shots off from 40 yards out, lunging in and getting sent off, grabbing the ball off designated penalty takers. I'm sure he's a big hit in the dressing room.

Punt asap.

Do you never tire of being wrong on embarrassingly epic scales?
