There's only him and del, and occasionally Ross, that can win a game on their own. We need players like that, especially if we sure up the defence.
I get this. Basically it's a frustration that Mirallas has obvious talent and could be better than he is rather than an objective take on the player. I don't think anyone is saying he's an 'amazing player' in the vein of Kanchelskis, or even that he has as much talent as Gerry. I'm just arguing that he does have passion. Maybe not quite as much as Straq, but he totally has the passion we love. He's also not good enough to be Kanchelskis.Oh that tantrum I agree with - he actually stuck it to Martinez for taking the piss.
Are you seriously saying he's not more or less the same all the time, even when he was playing regularly? I can't count the amount of times I've said "FFS KEV!" for something stupid he's done, or for being selfish, or for trying too hard.
Not taking away his talent, he's obviously got it, but to say he's some sort of amazing player would be rather odd, seeing as even at his best he was amazingly inconsistent. Even against Utd/Betis (IIRC) - he'd show some amazingly slick skills... then the next touch he'd lose the ball in a stupid way, misplace a 10 foot pass, cross far too hard and miss every target (or not cross at all and get the ball taken off him), or, as it happened, volley the ball out for a goal kick from 3 meters out.
I genuinely like Kev and want him to succeed with us, but ^ and tantrums will always be beaten by 150% effort and passion, which you could see in Stracq, which was the original, er, 'argument' I guess. It's just the fact you knew if Stracq missed a chance - he's crap, all he can do, fair play actually getting to that chance (see the Chelsea goal). Seeing Mirallas miss a chance or two every other game, and they're usually easy ones, breaks my tiny black heart. The thing that annoys me is that, 3 min later, he'll dribble past 7 players and backheel an assist or something, the tit ffs.
*Remembers that first touch against Betis, reconsiders everything written/life.
I can understand that and agree tbh.I get this. He's in the middle ground. He should be loved for what he is, because it's not nearly as crappy as some make out, he snided Suarez in the derby, he plays with his heart on his sleeve, and he's capable of that moment of magic. He's perfect for where Everton were, and should make a contribution in our rise (if it happens).
His tantrums are a turn off, but I genuinely believe they come from desire to do better than he's capable of on a regular basis, and a deep frustration at being held out of the side for as long as he was. Remember he spurned Arsenal for us because he wanted to play every week. Then we get a fraud manager in playing Tom Snivenvilly on the left in his place.
I don't mind that he stropped about that, but I do respect the frustration with an outspoken visibly upset player. There is certainly virtue in 'just getting on with it' and one that Evertonians prize highly...but not all people do that. As a player, Kev has generally only let us down as a proxy for some underlying systemic failure.
Bobby's appointment may just serve as extra motivation. Make it impossible for him not to be selected despite their personal tiff.I think he's our best player. Have done for ages, he can change games. The penalty incident wasn't great but it was telling that there was no leadership either on or off the pitch to say "**** off Kev, Bainesy takes the penalties."
I have high hopes for him this season......and there won't be any internationals to distract him!
I like your thinkingBobby's appointment may just serve as extra motivation. Make it impossible for him not to be selected despite their personal tiff.
one of the best posts ive seen on here mate. And the moral of this story is :
- Don't ever sulk or give less than 100%
- If you don't like a manager or want a move, playing your BEST is the way to get what you want.
- Earn you massive wage, respect the fans & show professional pride.
Common sense to anyone with a brain or who's actually had to work for a living. Sadly not that obvious to many thick over-entitled wasters.

His crossing is, still, pathetic, but he should hopefully have a good season. Think he's been ok in pre-season, without being anything special.

Ok mate, you have my word.Mate all I see is you is bad mouthing the team in multiple threads.
I know your heads fallen off but please.
Less of the dramatisation yeah?
