He was well up for it tonight, and in the derbies in general but where is that ability to cut inside and beat his man, sometimes two men, and cause chaos when we need it in much of the other games?
I still say when you look at his time for us overall he is just a good player, no better than that. I'd love to see that he can give last nights performance on a regular basis like the actual "boss" players do.
It's true that he vanishes far too often, and when he's playing as a winger he's frequently so central that he provides no outlet.
Saying that, the type of performance he gave last night was impressive. Hate to make the comparison, but his attitude was similar to that of Suarez, mixing skill with relentless determination. The problem we have is that only one of the two has that sort of attitude on a rainy night at the Brittania.
