I think people need to cut Mirallas some slack to be quite honest. We're in an absolutely desperate situation and selling him and not replacing him would only make things worse. I'd go as far as to say if we did that it wouldn't surprise me to see us relegated. We'd then have a total of ZERO wide players with any proven quality (McGeady, Atsu do not count, and Osman, Naismith and Barkley have all proven to be pathetic on the wings), and it takes away a player who is capable of a moment of magic to change a game.
He's an excellent player and made a mistake, which I am sure he apologised for immediately after the game to the whole squad. I don't think it was necessary for him to apologise to the fans. The manager will have made it clear it wasn't acceptable and hopefully he used the trip to Qatar as a squad morale boosting week and things are strong again.
