Awful news. Seemed a really nice bloke, a proper gent. And the Millwall keeper at 26.

I'm 51, seen multiple friends and colleague never make it to retirement, so make sure you enjoy as much of life and family as you can.

Devastating doesn’t come nearly as close to describing how we’re feeling right now, a guy who was brought in on an initial 10 game loan at the back of Walter Smith’s first season, to try a score the goals to stop us sliding out the top flight and boy did he ever, 9 goals including a hat trick in the final home game, led to his permanent signing that summer, a derby winner at the Kop end which was our last win there until 2021, and within 2 years was named the club’s first ever black captain forming partnerships with Big Dunc (when fit), Tomasz Radzinski, Franny Jeffers and a young Wayne Rooney before departing midway through the 2004/05 season to repeat the trick at West Brom

A man who was never meant to stay long but became a Goodison icon who adored the club and us fans till the very end. Thank you ‘Super’ Kevin Campbell for so so many memories
