I don't think he pays much attention to the news and tables. It was all over at the end of the summer deadline that we had made a big offer and it was even brought up recently when we renewed our interest that Napoli had turned down our bid and even Chelsea's 47 million bid

They haven't contended a league title mate, Juve run away with that league every year, finishing 2nd or 3rd when your miles off isn't contending for anything.

BTW - player hasn't ever turned us down, Napoli have never accepted a bid so how can the player turn anything down?

9 points isn't miles off. They're the second best team in Italy and definitely capable of challenging Juventus if they have a good year.

Look at how Chelsea turned around and won the league this year after where they finished last year.

They're playing in the Champions League and he's not only a starter but their best defender. It isn't gonna happen.

No, I'm saying that you can consider them contenders for the title next year.

After Leicester City last year anyone is contenders for next year. The year hasn't started so any team that is in the Premier League could be a contender next year. Heck even we are

Juve where 12 clear when they won the league mate, napoli closing by 3 points after that point was irrelevant, as Juve had already won it.

As for saying they have no hope and comparing them to City and United.

City and United both can outspend Chelsea, neither would lose their star player to Chelsea either (like Napoli did with Higuain)

Both City and United have a lot of trophies in recent years, Napoli last won the league when Maraddona was snorting Italian coke.
