Fun little gloating flight story.

I taught guitar to the eldest son of this family and now the youngest son, possibly spanning 8 years, work in the same school as the mum, but more importantly to this story the dad is a BA pilot.

Anyway, I think nearly a decades worth of teaching meant I was able to request a BA discount flying from Heathrow to San Francisco for a mates wedding. Not only on the flight out was it roughly £300 cheaper, but on the flight back, he put me on an upgrade list if there were first class seats available, which happened. Living in luxury for 10 hours whilst dressed like a bum.

Would have been incredible had it not been for the giant sunburn on my shoulders.

Knowing ppl who work for airlines is great. Got to fly business class to New York and back years ago for £100 on my housemate's "friends and family" discount

Hello Joseph Six Six. I did indeed have a mobile, however, once the plane starts to taxi to the runway I observe the request to put my devices into flight mode.

This is because I am an upstanding and law abiding citizen.

Further, I tend not to mess about with my phone during the scrum of disembarking the aircraft. Nor do I whilst waiting patiently for border control. Naturally, playing with one's phone whilst driving back from the airport a no no.

I hope this clarifies things for you.
