Its never the presentation, its always the message.
The message always comes across, no matter the grammar.
Defo no agenda here, he just doesnt think Women should commentate on mens footy.
The motivation is always interesting too.
Opportunistic tossers for money / fame (Barton, Brands, Peterson, Fox etc), political gain (Johnson, Braverman, Sunak, Rees-Mogg, Farage), or just sheer unthinking small minded nastiness (Farage and Braverman I'd suggest here). Or a motley combination of all three.
People know that the broadcasting of footy is an entertainment business, right?
So, pundits are given jobs for a range of skills, likability, personality, humour, are they articulate, are they comfortable in front of a camera, are they relatable…etc.
When there’s talk of tokenism, or meritocracy, there’s an unspoken element which is “that woman, that black person couldnt have got the job based on merit, how could they? It must be something else”, as if they know the selection process or criteria.
