Player of the season so far. The biggest shame from Everton's point of view is that the only trophy he has a realistic chance of winning is the world cup.

What's the quote from Alan Ball when asked why didn't he win more domestic trophies replied saying "Just the world cup was enough, son"

Not saying I'm not absolutely desperate for Everton to win even one trophy atm, but if you're going to choose one trophy to win, the world cup would be #1 for most people.

Yeah agree, Rice, Haaland, Pickford, Fernandes, Sboszlai, Rogers. Maybe one of the Arsenal centre backs.

Annoying thing is some people will remember that mistake against bloody Arsenal and think that sums up his season. Forgetting all the other incredible saves he's made. Just annoying he had to do that against Arsenal.

Like Coleman and Baines it's always baffled me how other teams haven't clamoured to sign Pickford. Not to sound like Big Sam but really do think it's an anti-blighty bias. Ignoring that Coleman isnt from the UK, but point still stands.

Nostalgia! Football was very different then. We had about 6 massive clubs, now we have multiple in every country, competition is huge.
Southall MAY have been the best in the world then, he wouldn't be now.
Jords shot stopping catalogue is much better than Nevs, it just is. We love nev cos he's ours but he's not as good as our Jord.

Was a different game then, so hard to directly compare. Keepers caught shots and crosses, and dealt with much more physically around them. Equally they didn’t use their feet as much.

If you are looking at Nev’s best saves though, you have to remember that most games weren’t televised or even filmed. But he was a key player in the best team in the land (and Europe) and did win player of the year. So that gives him the edge.

The likes of Raya, Donnarumma and Alison are always mentioned by the pundits, but I think Pickford has certainly won us more points than the first two and certainly should be in with a shout of keeper of the season.

Pickford is now earning the right to be compared to Southall, that already is huge in itself.
A fantastic goalkeeper, but Southall was still something else.
For us, for Wales.
Take absolutely nothing awake from Pickford, he will rightly be remembered as one of our very best goalkeepers. Let's just leave it there. No need to compare world class with world class.

I mean, how and why would you compare Messi and Ronaldo with the greatest of all if them, Dixie Dean?
