Plenty of GKs punch in the modern age though. And given the conditions at Goodison the other day I don't blame him for punching it.

Ederson did a similar punch in the first half and City were just fortunate it fell to one of their lads and not ours. It happens.

Ideally he would catch it, but as a shorter goalkeeper I understand why he prefers to punch.

Is it because his palms are still sore? He should never have been made captain - too vocal in the wrong way, needs to calm down - he suffered today with 5 at the back .....
