Don't think ragging on players in public is his style either, If you think someone like Ancelotti would accept what he did at Fleetwood where any other team or day we could have lost that due to two basic errors in one match then I don't know what to say.
I don't think anyone will be surprised that he's publicly backed Pickford.
But if he so publicly backs Pickford , then replaces him within a few weeks he just looks dishonourable and it devalues his future comments , again I don’t think that’s his way of doing things at all.
Had he obfuscated somewhat or carefully qualified his backing but he didn’t he was definite in his belief in and support of the man,
Doesn’t mean he won’t bring in someone like Romero as back up if he is dissatisfied with the current pair, but ,for now at least , it appears he is placing his trust in Pickford.
