2020/21 Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford may have misplaced a few of his kicks, and at times appeared noticeable agitated with himself, but I didn't think he played that badly, he just didn't have as good a game as in the previous matches. Hopefully, his dodgy moments against Denmark were a one-off, and he will now continue to progress and develop. I want to see him on top of his game and full of confidence when he returns to Everton.

Controversy is surrounding Denmark's opener against England with claims that it should have been ruled out according to the laws of the game.

The Euro 2020 semi-final saw Denmark taking the front foot and scoring the opening goal of the game.

When the Danes won a free-kick when Luke Shaw wrestled Andreas Christensen to the ground, 21 year old Mikkel Damsgaard stepped-up to take the free-kick and thundered into the back of the net from long range.

Jordan Pickford had no chance with the Danish attackers blocking his view as Damsgaard struck his shot.

But while the Danish wall was praised for their intuitive thinking, one eagle eyed viewer claimed the goal should not have stood according to the laws of the game.

FIFA rules state that: "Where three or more defending team players form a 'wall,' all attacking team players must remain at least 1 metre (1 yard) from the 'wall' until the ball is in play."

Manchester City podcaster David Mooney was quick to spot the infraction and point out the relevant rule on Twitter.

Who hates Pickford more, the Everton dars or England fans? Tough one.

Probably England to be honest.

If he ever goes 6 games for us only conceding 1 goal then I'd almost propose a statue of him is built at Bramley Moore. Yet he finally concedes after about 500 mins for England and they all want a full inquest. It wasn't even really a mistake, just more that theoretically he could have saved it. But that's the case with probably half of the goals ever scored in the history of football.

I've known for days and made a mental note that even after five clean sheets that he'd be blamed here, an Everton forum, for the next goal scored past him, no matter how. The free kick was perfect.
As far as the pundits are concerned if it didn't brush the angle it was down to him. Not an England fan but thanks god they didn't lose. Otherwise you can just imagine the front page headlines.

He was not.
Again:
He ate their defence last night, it was killing them, the perfect out ball. Hoof it to Kane, he runs the channel, gets fouled and the pressure is off. It was a master class in what he was asked to do. His game was not just about getting goals, mate.

Pickford is the only keeper I can remember for a long time that had to be absolutely perfect just to get called decent. Any slight error and it’s pounced on immediately and he’s back to being a liability. Absolutely ridiculous.
Pickford and perfect thats an oxymoron right there isnt it?
