That balls up today: it's roots are in all of his errors - he is in two minds at what he should do. Today, he had in mind either catch the ball or pat the ball down and then gather it. In the end he did neither.

At other times it's whether to put the ball out or catch it.

There is a fatal error in this lad because his judgement on these things is confused right at the moment he should have opted for one option and stuck to it.

It's why he's decent at reactive saves: no time to think and judge what's best.

Itls what his antics do to a defence as much as his own howlers that are an outrage.

I just dont get 3 managers keeping faith with this unstable character.

As well as Ancelotti has done, keeping Pickford as his number 1 GK is a huge black mark on his Everton resume.

He'll cost us. He;s cost us in the past but it's usually the difference between 7th or 8th and midtable or below; this time it'll be the difference between 7th or 8th and the CL/EL places.

What is this club doing employing a confirmed failure in our goal?
You’re dead right, and it’s why the talk of it being form or a phase is way wide if the mark. He makes errors because of fundamental problems with his decision making and technique. This is just how he is, always has been.

What's the name of that kid who played in goal in preseason? He'd do a better job than Pickford at present, i'm pretty sure most professional goalkeepers would do a better job to be honest.

His once in a blue moon TV replay worthy reaction saves are worthless without the more important bread and butter work. Besides, most of his slow motion replays have actually been of his many gaffs.
We desperately need an upgrade between the sticks.
Carlo, just get us a keeper who is strong in the basics first and foremost, anything else beyond that we will take as a bonus. Oh, and make him at least six and a half feet tall.

As good as we have improved defensively, for example Keane and Mina’s form, Pickford has deteriorated alarmingly. Surely you can only persist with this for so long before it begins to affect the players and their faith in their own keeper.
Can you imagine how the Gladwys Street would be receiving him right now?

He's not going to suddenly get better is, time to replace him

I’ve tried to give him the benefit, thinking that he’ll mature and concentrate more. Have to admit he’s just error prone now.
