Pickford Stance
Everton will reject offers from any club for Jordan Pickford amid reports linking Chelsea with a move for the goalkeeper, Goal’sChelsea reporter Nizaar Kinsella understands.
Sky sources yesterday claimed Pickford would be the London club’s top target should Thibaut Courtois depart this summer, but Kinsella believes the Blues would not be willing to sell the former Sunderland man under any circumstances.
Everton’s relationship with Chelsea is already strained after their acrimonious pursuit of John Stones several seasons ago and Marco Silva wants to hold onto his prized asset.

Forgot about that Stones situation, in away it shows what no marks Watford are, annoyed about us going after Silva but soon as we try and buy a player we just walk in and take him haha

Pickford wont be sold because the contract has far to far to run, saying that if he puts in a request we have to sell IMO, its mad to have a keeper who dosent want to be at the club, any other posiiton can have an off day off but a sulking keeper can let the off goal fly in

however he also made the biggest blooper by a goalkeeper in a world cup final...ever. That to me immediately excludes him from being above Pickford. If it had been Pickford who made that error he would have been lambasted to the end of time for it and Lloris is doing this on a regular basis.

disagree for two reasons:

1) as we know that goal was only a very late consolation, making a 1-4 into a 2-4. Even as it went in the Croats didn't have enough time to score two more. Even if Pickford had made that error in the same circumstances, he and we would've seen the funny side. It's a safe bet Lloris wouldn't have been that switched off had the scores been closer.

2) this is the biggest, and most meaningful, keeper blooper in a WC final, score was 0-0 at the time and this was the first meeting at a World Cup between the two most successful nations in its history:

and even that didn't prevent Kahn from not just winning the Best Keep award, he still won the best overall player award.

Lloris's mistake means close to zero in the scheme of things.

Some one at Chelsea must have nudged Sky which will of course have been noticed by Pickford. Am I missing some thing surely this is tapping up!!!

Jordan Pickford in line for improved Everton contract
Paul JoyceJuly 29 2018, 6:00pm,

Jordan Pickford is set to be offered a new contract at Everton as the club look to secure the long-term future of the England goalkeeper.
Everton will reward the 24-year-old with improved terms following an impressive first season at the club, which continued with his eye-catching performances at the World Cup.
Pickford has been linked with Chelsea amid rumours that Thibaut Courtois could move to Real Madrid in this transfer window, but Everton have no intention of selling their goalkeeper a year after paying Sunderland £30 million for him.
Instead, they will scrap Pickford’s existing contract, which has four years left to run, and present him with better terms to reflect his new standing.
Marco Silva, the new Everton manager, has yet to work with Pickford following the player’s time in Russia with England when he established himself as his country’s No 1 and rewarded Gareth Southgate’s faith.
Pickford has had two weeks off since England’s third-place playoff defeat to Belgium but will expect to start in Everton’s first Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

His return will boost Everton whose difficult pre-season continued with a 4-1 defeat to Rennes, of Ligue 1, on Saturday, although Richarlison, new £40 million signing, scored on his first start.
Everton face Valencia in their final friendly next Saturday and Silva will hope to strengthen his defensive options before then with a left back and a left-sided centre half still priorities.

Thought it may have been soured from the Barkley transfer.

How unprincipled are we by the way. Furious about their Stones approach, we deal with them again within what 2 years? ha. Grow a bleedin' backbone ffs.

Concede a tonne of goals get rewarded with a pay increase. He's got 4 years still on his deal let him slum it on the tens of thousands a week he's already on

That improved contract talk was the next stage of what i expected to happen, after all this Chelsea stuff lol, papers can be so predictable
