Injury record is a bit suspect. Good standard of back up though and possibly could prove quite astute business if he keeps himself in one piece. But it's a lot underwhelming.
Dann is better, IMO, but would have ended up costing £12mil or something stupid. Not chuffed if it is £8mil, but I'm happy with the signing. Personally think it'll be about £6mil with add ons.
In fairness, most back up defenders are 'underwhelming'. Would have loved us to go out and get Van Dijk, but realistically it wasn't going to happen.
They were both 32/33 when they signed for Sunderland in fairness, and were signed as first team players for them.
Evans is only 27, and is being signed as someone who's gonna provide experienced and decent completion. Not the best, but I don't think there's better out there we could've got.

Player Valuation: £15m
Seems like a goer now. I'm reasonably excited (a weak semi) about the prospect but every time I come here I feel like I'm a maniac for not despising the very notion. He's played at a high level and would likely be our third choice. 200 games for ManU and a decent trophy haul. I never paid all that much attention to him over anyone else at ManU but I've seen him play a lot because ManU and he never stood out as some kind of calamity.
