Personally i think Pickford could do with some decent competition, im a fan of his, but there were times this season where i would have dropped him due to hubris decision making and possibly his disciplinary issues, if only just to focus to him keep improving.

I welcome this move for that reason alone. A PL no 1 keeper, to push him and keep him focused and an able alternative if needed.

PL experience, wasn't horrible in 17/18 and even last season he was far from their worst player. Crucially, there is minimal financial risk which means we can spend the cash on players to improve the first XI.
