Axing the England hopeful will quell the growing problem of player power, claims 'Arry.

Outspoken Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp believes that Everton manager David Moyes would be wise to grant Joleon Lescott his desired switch to Manchester City.
“David Moyes should take the money for Joleon Lescott,” Redknapp told The Daily Mail.

“He doesn’t want to be at Everton and Moyes will not want that negativity breeding in his dressing room.

“It’s another example of player power.”

Everton lost to Arsenal at Goodison Park to the weekend's most extraordinary scoreline, 6-1, after an aesthetically-pleasing attacking performance from the Gunners.

Louis Saha gave the few remaining Evertonians reason to cheer moments before the game's death, scoring the Toffees' only goal.

Sell Joleon Lescott To Manchester City, Redknapp Instructs Everton Boss Moyes - Goal.com

Why cant he concentrate on trying to steal the players we want and not tell us who to sell. I really dont like the bandy eyed pie loving w@nker.

Not a good source though, sorry.

Wobbly Head and the Daily SS....a match made in Valhalla.

Dunno if this was put up.....

Unhappy Lescott was in the team that lost 6-1 to Arsenal on Saturday

The biggest thing about the Joleon Lescott situation is that the player himself has decided that he does not want to be at Goodison Park - and in this day and age when that happens it is better to let the player leave.
Manchester City clearly want to sign Lescott and although I admire the stance of Everton boss David Moyes, who has said that the defender is under contract and will not be leaving, I think he should take the money.
This sort of drawn-out transfer saga unsettles everyone at a club and it is no coincidence that Everton lost their opening game of the Premier League season 6-1 at home by Arsenal.
Lescott did not want to play, his team-mates probably knew that and there was a lack of communication and cohesion.
I am not saying for a single minute that the uncertainty over Lescott was the sole cause for Everton's defeat but it was definitely a factor.
Had Arsenal won 2-1 or 3-1 it would still have been very bad - but then you take into account the 6-1 scoreline and Everton's performance and I would have thought that it would hasten Lescott's departure.

The Lescott situation is at an impasse and there is no easy way out

The reality is that the balance has changed in football. If you go back 20-25 years contracts were in favour of the clubs but now the power rests with the players.
And if a big club with lots of money wants to sign someone at a club with less wealth and is offering to double that player's wages - as has been widely reported - then it is inevitable that he will move.
You could ask why Lescott is unhappy at Everton. The club finished fifth in the Premier League last season and reached the FA Cup final.
But I think that 99.9% of the population would want to move if it meant doubling their salary and I am not going to criticise Lescott for wanting to do that.
The defender is 27 and if he signed a four-year contract at City he would be set for life. That is very, very difficult to turn down and people have got to understand that is the reality of modern-day football.

Moyes is very unhappy with Man City's pursuit of Lescott

Moyes obviously holds Lescott in high regard and may think that he does not have the time to replace him.
The transfer window closes on 1 September and traditionally the best players who might have been available have already been bought by this stage of the summer.
Moyes would have to find somebody who is not only of the required quality but who would fit into Everton backline. Central defence is about partnerships - and selling Lescott to bring in a replacement after the season has started is not ideal.
At the moment the situation is at an impasse - with Moyes wanting Lescott to stay and City boss Mark Hughes keen to buy him.
There is not going to be an easy way out of this and there has been something of a war of words between the two managers - but I think that eventually Lescott will move.
And the longer the situation goes on before it happens, the worse it will become.

These people saying we should sell Lescott haven't got a clue.

They have bid £15m and then £18m.

Could we bring in a centre back and left back cover for that amount? Hull want £12+m for Turner, Newcastle £8+m for Taylor....

I see the mooner fans have just banned our friendly City member bluemooner_mcfc for sticking up for the Everton fans , and telling the City lads what he thinks of the way they behave .
I don't know why the mods there put up with the likes of that Stony , Blueinsa , Alera , Billy Shears and Bring back Swailes . It's because of members like them that give Bluemoon such a bad name on other forums . The mods there are normally ok , but Ducado sticking up for those Ass holes instead of a decent member like bluemooner_mcfc is out of order . He should know better . I reckon if Ric saw what was going on there he'd ban the lot of them .
Horrible horrible people .

I read today in one of the gossip magazines, sorry newspapers (mirror or sun probably) that Lescott is an £8m player :o

Fair play Bluemooner...

so what if ive posted stuff about this place, some of you can be VILE and double standards of plenty.

how come some of you cant take banter and resort to banning fans from another forum? some of the things you lot say are nasty and theres an element of you that are so so arrogant its untrue since we can afford some quality players these days and you leave me thinking that its a new breed of city fans that are moronic and leave me ashamed of the way you treat not only other fans but even fans that support the same team as you.

do you think im arsed if i got spotted telling the truth about SOME of you? not in the slightest because some of you internet warriors are vile and thats why i very rarely post on here anymore because of the bollocks some of you post about city let alone other clubs.

if i get banned from here for saying my bit then hey ho it proves what im saying that some of you can only give it but dont take it and for whoever banned the everton lad for having banter when lets face it some of you was vile towards not only him but other fans who dare to pop there heads around this forum to see whats going on like im sure some of you do the same to other forums to see whats going on but i bet you dont get half the abuse some of you give which is personal.

so go on fire away at me but you have to think about one thing though before you do which is....why do you think city have become hated so much ?

i will give you a clue because its not just that we are now rich and people cant handle it its because theres a HUGE ARROGANCE thats krept into my club now and its not nice and thats why we are hated so much not the money its some of you.

in fact i dont need to be banned because i aint coming on here again because i have a regular city forum thats not full of knobheads and welcome all fans from all over not **** them off because they support another club.

so long knobheads.

Theres always room for him on here if he wants to wear a deeper shade of blue (y)

at least he's showing a bit of class unlike some of the other wallys. Clearly all been to the same school of charm as Hughes.

Geez, bad that.

Only a few on here gave him a bit of a bad time but I think like any fan they try and chip in with what they heard, let other people know, then get some stick for it not being true etc etc. But he came back and seemed more interested in what we had to say over the Lescott thing. Was good to get the Citeh view on it thats just not "take the money tanks firing at your club" thing - he seemed like he wanted to make sense of why they want to spend £20million on a defender and we dont want to accept that.

Then he gets bollocked by the lot over there. Shame.

And we get idiots like azzbot telling him to 'sling his hook', 'get back where he came from'.

And some people are sad he was banned. :dodgy:
