I don't see the point of booing the guy tomorrow .
He is still an Everton player , and for me it's an opportunity to remind him what a great club he currently plays for by giving him full support .
If he does turn tail and upset the fans , then there will be plenty of time to show him how we feel if and when he wears another teams shirt .

It was my weak attempt at irony. We can't call him Judas if we eventually accept £22M or whatever for him, everyone has their price.

I won't be booing him, and anyone that does is guaranteeing that he will pack his bags and go (there will be a minority).

FFS, at this moment in time and for the forseeable future JoLo is an Everton player, it's our duty as supporters of our great club to cheer him on, what good would booing him do? And to make it even worse, the only evidence we have of Lescott being unhappy at the club is the rags, I wouldn't wipe my arse with them ffs

I've been saying he won't go for well over a month, I'm not changing my tune now because I firmly believe that Moyes will not let him go, whether he wants to go or not is another matter but with WC 2010 coming up he won't be mucking about sulking like a little kid so until he's no longer an Everton player he will receive my full support

So what would you buy with 22 mil?

Well, first I'd have to give at least £2.2m to Wolves, then a few million would probably be nicked to keep the banks off our backs, £5m at least, so £15m to spend, £4-5m probably already gone on Senderos most likely, so £11m... replacement for Lescott as backup at LB, £4-5m if we're lucky, £6m left.... probably get Rasmus Elm, amazing improvements to the club there.

Lescott tonight

Please, please, please do not boo him tonight.

We need to sing his name and make it known to him how much we want him to stay.

The position at the moment is Moyes wants him to stay and is rejecting offers out of hand. It has been known that lescott will stop short of formerly handing in a request and he will carry on playing for everton if the deal doesnt go through. He's not the type to go on strike or something to get his own way.

That being the case, we shouldn't make his position become untenable here or give City a bargaining tool.

If you dont want him here, just bite your lip for now but please dont boo the lad until he actually leaves us.

£1.7m actually. It's 10% of the price over the £5M we bought him for.

“At the moment it looks like Everton don’t particularly want to come to the table and we have to respect that.

We have not had the opportunity to speak to the powers that be. We have put two bids in and maybe there is room to go back in.

“If they are talking about £30m it’s difficult to speak about. We don’t know if we are going to get the opportunities to speak on those terms.”

Hughes went on to defend himself and City against claims made by Moyes that the club “lacked respect” in their pursuit of the defender, who moved to Goodison Park from Wolves for £5m in 2006.

I could have lifted up the phone and asked David if he would sell his centre-half and he would have said no, so where do you go from that point?” said Hughes.

What we try to do is go to those who can conclude a deal around the table and they have been reluctant to do that.

“If you ask every club we have dealt with – certainly Arsenal over how we have dealt with Kolo Toure – they will tell you we have conducted our business pretty correctly and that’s how we try to do business.

“People obviously don’t want their best players to leave but we are an option and people seriously consider their futures if they feel there is an opportunity to come to Manchester City.

That’s all we are doing. That’s no different to many clubs in years gone by.”
If you did respect that you wouldn't try and go behind his back to sign Lescott!

Take the hint then and go somewhere else!!

You go somewhere else of course! Stupid *****

Since we don't intend to sell... what's the point to tell you that around a table when you can't understand it when we say it in the papers??

But when the club doesn't want to sell and turn you down you go by the wrong way just to get what you want??

Of course they consider their future regarding going to you. "Is it worth the rest of my career to go to this [Poor language removed] club just to earn more money?" is the most prominent thought among them I would think.

Oh, please... wake up to reality!

Ha ha Not for sale, do one Hughes:

Until we get the opportunity to get around the table and possibly discuss the deal, we don’t know if it is something that will happen. Saying on the OS that he has a good chance of playing tonight, hes in the squad.

The American kid we signed during the week is in the squad to.

Wonder will Moyesy have a press conference before the game.

Thanks Neiler for your posts especially on the Hughes statement. But that statement is again a means of pressurising the club and the player. Hughes was told Lescott not for sale and he should have respected, gone elsewhere instead of keep putting bids in.

If he wanted to talk to the club then his starting bid should have been more like 25 mill not the paltry 15 mill.
