Johnny Heitinga - You blew it son.

Heitinga came to Everton with a reputation as a ball-playing strong centreback.

A fairly large £6m price for the Dutchman from La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid seemed, at first, another fantastic signing from Moyes.

He looked fairly decent in his first season, but questions started to be asked about his attitude. During some games he seemed to shut off leaving gaps in and behind the back four.

He trundled on in the next season, where Moyes opted to play him as right-back. Heitinga wasn't happy with this, however some of his passes from deep were amazing. He was to later play as a midfielder when the club suffered from injuries.

However at the back end of that season Heitinga complaned about both the managment of him, and the fact that the club wasn't going to reach his expectations for Champions League football.

“I have certainly not come here to sit on the bench. Together with Phil Neville, I have more experience than all the others. I have played in four major national team tournaments and I have played the World Cup final.

“I belong to the 22 best players in the world and I belong to the four best central defenders in the world. Ok, I won’t exaggerate now! But make it ten best central defenders in the world. That should be enough confirmation.

“Once you’ve been on the biggest stage in the world and once you’ve played in the final of the World Cup, it gives you a boost as a player. It is fantastic for your confidence.

“I don’t want to moan. At the end of the day it is all down to me. Apart from not playing sometimes, I love it here in England. I am still aiming for big success here in England. Well, I have played 65 games in the Premier League in two seasons. That is a start.

“I hope being out is a temporary thing. I will decide in the summer what I will do.”

“It’s strange for me to sit on the bench at Everton. I will always claim that I am the best central defender at this club - definitely since the World Cup.

“I could understand it if the manager leaves me out of the team when I make big mistakes. But right now I can’t get over the last few weeks.

“The manager is not a big talker. Never has been. He does not explain his decisions to others either. He just says everybody will get playing time.”

“The manager prefers power in central defense. But I am convinced I can supply that power too. I am not 6 feet 6inches tall, but I don’t lose any headers. I proved that against many top class strikers.

“When I watch the Champions League on tv, my stomach turns. I used to hear the hymn of the Champions League as an Ajax player in the stadium. Now I am lying on a couch in front of the telly here in England on such nights.’

I want to be in Europe again. I want to get there with Everton, but it is a big fight. We have a lot of competition.’’

"I refuse to go and play in every position now. I don’t want to be right back again. I told the manager that.

Today he played in his position and was absolutely diabolical.

Time for him to leave?

I wont bat an eyelid when he goes. Completely flawed as a centre back and at fault for the goal against Utd and today vs Newcastle. Him and Bily have both been shocking signings, all things considered. Both can leave.

Cant be scapegoating. He wasnt great but he wasnt awful. Both Jags and Heitinga were out muscled and out jumped by 2 mobile and powerful strikers. The OG was unlucky.

But all in all, Im guessing that the majority of fans are thinking that Lescott money was wastefully spent.

Still think he's a decent player, probably worth about what we paid. If he was massive and athletic he'd be worth double.

As for wasting the Lescott money, I still can't believe that.

I don't get it, he should be great but he just isn't. I wouldn't be sorry to see him go at this point.

In his last three matches, matches where he has played in his "proper position", the World Cup finalist has:

1). Given away a penalty for a stupid and reckless tackle.
2). Decided to mark a player that was already being marked, leaving his strike partner completely open to a tap in.
3). Scored an own goal.

We've lost these 3 games; his awful defending coupled with his high wages and intolerable attitude means that he should be first to go in the window, just like we were all saying this time last year.

Absolutely bang on the money mate.
